Five Faves 7/6/18

Five things I’ve been consuming or enjoying this week (7/6/18).

Camano Island.

Our grandparents have had a cabin on Camano Island for decades and it is always a joy to spend time there.  The fourth was especially spectacular with 2 hours of consecutive fireworks happening all around the bay.  We contributed largely with bottle rockets and sparklers.  I read this John Grisham book while out there for an obvious (if silly) reason!

Our favorite view.

Special Olympics.

PQ and I thoroughly enjoyed volunteering at the Special Olympics on Tuesday!  Read my post about it here and below is my favorite video conveying the emotion of the event, an interview with 100M Freestyle winner Victoria Smith.

Cougar Gold and Pepper Jelly.

Cougar Gold is the unique canned cheese (yes, canned!) from Washington State University.  It was a staple of my childhood in Pullman, and a friend brought a can over two weeks ago.  I’ve found a new favorite addition to it — pepper jelly!

Meet Me On the Star Ferry, OPI Nail Polish.

It’s a little dark for the summer, but I like the metallic purple shine — goes with most of my wardrobe.  Plus, it’s the color I wore on my toes for my wedding!

Hope everyone had a great 4th of July!

See last week’s Fave Fives.
