Five Faves 6/1/18

Five things I’ve been consuming or enjoying this week (6/1/18).

Philz Coffee

Philz Coffee. We love their Philtered Soul and Silken Splendor.  I don’t drink this coffee exclusively (it’s a little pricy and requires a shipping fee), but every now and then we buy a few bags!  [Website]

popcast with knox and jamie logo

Popcast Pod Summer Movie Preview.  This is one of my favorite podcasts and there are a few movies I’m very excited about this summer (Ocean’s 8, Jurassic Park).  Listen to Knox and Jamie breakdown the next 3 months of movies in hilarious fashion. [Website] (Available on iTunes, Episode 244)

SPAM museum in Austin, MN

SPAM Museum. This wacky gem in Austin, MN is the perfect 30 minute road trip break.  We stopped here as we drove from Des Moines, IA to Eau Claire, WI for a wedding.  It’s small and free, but fun and informative.  [Website]

brutalist-cuckoo-clocks

Brutalist Cuckoo Clock. There was something fascinating about the juxtaposition of the delicate cuckoo clock and the imposing concrete style of brutalist architecture.  This design hits close to home for two reasons: 1) I love Switzerland (and we had a cuckoo clock growing up to remember our time there), and 2) I work in a university building that is partially inspired by brutalism (which is going to be torn down next year!).  [Link to kottke.org]

Mini-Charmer-leather-wrap-bracelet-Metallic-Teal-leather_grande

Lizzy James Mini Charmer Bracelet. I have a more neutral version of this bracelet (brown leather as opposed to the pictured metallic teal) and I wear it with everything.  The brown-silver combo with a dog paw charm (from my mom!) somehow matches almost every outfit I wear. [Website]
